Female Kiwanians Salute Earl Jarrett

Earl Jarrett, General Manager, receives his award as a Man of Excellence, from Kiwanis Club of New Kingston President, Sharon Williams.
Earl Jarrett, General Manager, has been recognized as a ‘Man of Excellence’ by the all-female Kiwanis Club of New Kingston.
“The name Earl Jarrett is synonymous with busy, involved, engaged, committed – a man of indomitable spirit, boundless energy, noble service and clear vision – a true patriot,” stated Kiwanian, Everlyn Craig-Brown. Her commendation was addressed to the 20th annual awards luncheon of her club at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston, St. Andrew, on June 1.
“Earl’s goal over the next three years is to see Jamaica National cemented as a truly international company,” she stated. “This dynamic general manager of Jamaica National Building Society is extremely proud of the broadening and strengthening of the JN Brand with several exciting initiatives.”
Ms. Craig Brown added that, “his advice to the younger generation is to reach for greatness; be as good as you can get; (and) be hungry for knowledge.”
For the past 19 years, the club has honoured women who have excelled in various fields, but this year, her colleagues have decided to turn the tables and recognize outstanding men, said Kiwanian, Eleanor Jones. The club is one of only three all-female Kiwanis clubs in the island.
The other ‘Men of Excellence’ recognized at the awards luncheon were: Kenneth Benjamin, Karl Hendrickson, Dr. Errol Morrison, Basil Barrington Watson, and R. Danny Williams.
“In this, the 50th year of our independence, we want to pick up the men as our partners in nation building,” President of the Club, Sharon Williams, told the large audience at the Pegasus Ballroom.
