The safe way to SAVE
Premium Club Accounts are passbook accounts offering higher interest rates for maintenance of specified minimum balances. These accounts will pay interest twice per year with the option to transfer interest earned to another JN savings account.
There are three types of Premium Accounts – PLATINUM, GOLD & SILVER
Benefits:

- As a Premium Club client you will be recognized specially by our Member Care Centre. Your calls will go to the head of the queue and their calls will be directed to a senior agent.
- Each Premium Club client will be assigned to a senior staff member at each location. You will be able to call ahead for smooth transactions.
- Premium Club debit cards will eventually be part of our merchant discount programme
- Free 1 year membership with Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA) which is worldwide
PLATINUM
- Minimum account balance: J$2,500,000
- Platinum passbook and ATM card
- Interest rate: up to 4.45% per annum
- 3 year membership with JAA
- Eligible to win a Caribbean cruise
- Terms and conditions:
- Interest paid twice per year
- If minimum balance is not obtained, rates revert to Flexi rates
GOLD
- Minimum account balance: J$1,000,000
- Gold passbook and ATM card
- Interest rate: up to 4.25% per annum
- 1 year membership with JAA
- Eligible to win an all expense paid trip to New York
- Terms and conditions:
- Interest paid twice per year
- If minimum balance is not obtained, rates revert to Flexi rates
SILVER
- Minimum account balance: J$500,000
- Silver passbook and ATM card
- Interest rate: up to 4.10% per annum
- 1 year membership with JAA
- Chance to win all expense paid trip to Miami
- Terms and conditions:
- Interest paid twice per year
- If minimum balance is not obtained, rates revert to Flexi rates
- You will receive a letter from our Customer Service & Quality Assurance Department providing information about their member benefits:
Accounts will pay interest semi annually, similar to that of the JN Advance Accounts.

Applicants Residing Locally
- Full registered name and name(s) used (i.e. first, middle and last name)
- Date, place of birth and nationality
- Applicant’s crrent and previous addresses, including postal code
- Proof of your address (utility bill, receipt or other bills).
- Telephone number(s) - (home, work and mobile)
- Current and valid identification
- Tax payer Registration Number (TRN) OR Jamaican Driver’s licence bearing this number OR its overseas equivalent (Social Security Number (SSN) US Resident, Social Insurance Number (SIN) – Canadian Resident), National Insurance Number (NIN) – UK Resident
- Occupation and name of employer (if self-employed, the nature of the self employment)
- Two (2) references
- Valid identification (Passport, Driver's License, Elector Registration Identification Card or National ID)
* If a child below 16 years is to be added to this account, the child's Birth Certificate is required.
Applicants Residing Overseas
- Notarized copy of your valid identification (Passport, Driver's License, Alien Registration Identification Card or State Identification Card or Naturalization Certificate with Picture) *
- The minimum amount of US$20 or its equivalent required for opening the account. Only International/Postal Money Order cheques will be accepted.
- Your completed Customer Information Form (CIF) which will be mailed to you upon submission of your full name and address to info@jnbs.com.
- Proof of your address (utility or cable bill or bank statement).
- Birth certificate (only for minors)
- International Money Orders, Postal Money Orders or Cashier’s (Manager) cheques made payable to Jamaica National Building Society. (Personal cheques or cash will not be accepted)
- A notarized letter stating the type of account to be opened, the names and signatures of the persons to be added to the account and any other specific instructions
- Each signature should be notarized separately.
- For Jamaican Immigrants who previously had a Tax Registration Number (TRN), this must be obtained.
- Tax Identification Number (TIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) are not mandatory to open a Savings account.
- The minimum amount of US$20 or its equivalent required for opening the account.
