Jamaica National To Charge Multilink ATM Fees
Since June 1, the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) has been charging fees for the use of non-JNBS automated teller machines (ATM), Leon Mitchell, JN Group Marketing Executive said.
Speaking at the building society’s monthly marketing meeting in May, he said a fee would be charged for each transaction using these non-JN/ATMs. Members of JNBS have access to more than 4,000 of these Multi-link ATMs across the island.
“A fee of $50.00 will be charged for the use of non-JN/ATMs,” he explained, noting that, “the cost of this service will now be deducted from member’s accounts on a daily basis.”
There will be no charge for members using JN/ATMs however, and in addition, there are 130,000 point-of-sale merchants across Jamaica where no transaction fees are charged to Members using their JNBS cards, he pointed out. These are valuable alternatives to JNBS members where, and since June 1, fees are being charged for some transactions.
The Marketing Executive explained that there will be no charge for banking and bill payment transactions carried out via LIVE by JN, the Society’s online banking service.
