JN General Insurance takes flight!

Rev. Dr. Garnet Brown (at door), a customer of JN General Insurance (JNGI) Company for 54 years, formally opens the refurbished JNGI building with Chris Hind, JNGI General Manager, and Alicia Browne, JNGI Assistant General Manager. Formerly N.E.M Insurance Company, JNGI was renamed on May 1, marking the change with a ceremony at the general insurers chief office, in downtown Kingston

JN General Insurance Company Limited (JNGI) formally came into existence on May 1, 2012, as NEM Insurance joined the Jamaica National brand family.

The transition was carried out with a formal ribbon-cutting by Rev. Dr. Garnet Brown, a customer of JN General Insurance (JNGI) Company for 54 years, followed by a tour of the newly refurbished building. In the afternoon a staff launch ceremony was held at the King Street office canteen.

“We are proud to formally rebrand our company as the JN General Insurance Company, and to launch the rebranding campaign, with you all, our most important customers, the JNGI employees,” said GM Chris Hind at the launch ceremony. “We will continue our development as one of the strongest general insurers in Jamaica, allied with one of the longest established and strongest brands in Jamaica.”

Discussing the name change, Maximilian Campbell, JN Group Human Resource Development Executive, and chairman of the function, told the gathering that, “we also want to recognize you, the staff members who will embody that change through your functions and interactions with your customers.”

JN General Insurance has been making steady progress towards brand integration for some time, Mr. Hind said. Products have been aligned with those of the JN Group, the JN branches serve as retailing platforms, and former JN Group subsidiary, the Jamaica Automobile Association, is now a closely aligned JNGI subsidiary.

“We will need your continued commitment and support, as we strive to provide the utmost in customer service, and to live up to our value proposition,” the General Manager told the assembled staff.
