Executive Summary
Management Control Systems Limited (MCS) has distinguished itself as the leading local provider of cutting-edge technology solutions in software development and the provision of hardware from accredited partners Microsoft and Hewlett Packard.
Performance highlights for the company over the year include increased revenue inflows – with gross profit running at 53 percent above the previous year for non-transaction processing activities, and services specific revenue at 57 percent above the 2007/2008 figure. Much of this improvement was due to an increased focus on key customers and deepening the relationship with them. In response to the dynamic nature of our business, rising costs and the changing needs of our customers, MCS undertook some restructuring in the last quarter of the year, resulting in a 25 percent reduction in staff.
MCS also focused on improving product and service offerings. Among the initiatives mounted were the development of new options to enhance our suite of payroll products, the introduction of a new payment solution to complement our current offerings in the marketplace; enhancement of our product support functions to include Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM for Customer Relationship Management – with JNBS as our first customer; and migration of our point-of-sale (POS) payment solutions to the new POS platform.
During 2008/2009, we rolled-out the improved JN Teller solution, also called SOA Teller, to branches island wide; and this process will be completed in the new financial year. This application significantly enhances teller efficiency; and the platform provides a strong base from which other applications and interfaces to JNBS’ service offerings can be facilitated. During the next financial year, the development that commenced last year will be launched, starting with LodgePro Plus in the first quarter.
The company will continue to strengthen its ties with key customers, deepen relationships
with existing partners, identify new partners and develop products and services that complement our offerings and better enable the company to deliver complete solutions. By broadening offerings to select clients, we place ourselves in a better position to support the various activities across the JN Group, as well as to survive the deepening economic recession.
MCS intends to re-focus on the provision of complete solutions that leverage our software
development skills, and maintain our position of leadership through “Innovative Solutions, Professional Delivery.”
