First and second time mortgagors can now enjoy the Society’s single digit rate of 9.4 per cent, said Jean Look Tong, JN Group Marketing, Sales and Promotions Executive, at the Jamaica National Building Society.

Mrs. Look Tong explained that the offer was one of the lowest on the market and is an opportunity for persons who are second time home owners to upgrade and get their dream homes and for first time owners to purchase a home.

The JNBS Marketing, Sales and Promotions Executive noted that applicants will also be able to get  90 per cent financing based on the lower of the purchase price or value of a residential property with a dwelling.

Earlier this year, the Society had introduced the rate as a special, which would have expired over 60 days, however Mrs. Look Tong noted that there is no time line to this new rate. “We are happy to announce that persons can take up this offer at any time,” she said.

She underscored that getting a mortgage through JNBS is easy and hassle-free as the Society has personal Mobile Mortgage/Loan Officers who will be assigned to the applicant within 24 hours of contact with JNBS. “These Loan Officers pro­vide personalized management of the application process; and our fully electronic loan origination system provides for quicker credit decisions,” said Mrs. Look Tong.

JNBS has four Regional Mortgage Centres where the Mobile Officers are based. The Mortgage Centres are located at the New Kingston Shopping Centre, at 30 Dominica Drive in New Kingston; at the JN Branches on Gra­ham Street in Ocho Rios; Mandeville  Plaza in Mandeville; as well as, at the new JN Financial Services, at Catherine Hall in Montego Bay.
