Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) will join forces with the Jamaica Agricultural Society to celebrate Denbigh’s 60 year milestone by highlighting the mortgage and savings solutions that are the core business of the organization and which have guided JNBS over the past 138 years.
The 60th annual Denbigh Agricultural Industrial and Food show will be held under the sub-theme, “Denbigh at 60 Celebrating Achievements in Agriculture,” from Saturday, August 4 to Independence Day, August 6, in May Pen, Clarendon.
This year’s show will also highlight the major JAS theme, “Grow what we eat and eat what we grow.”
Leon Mitchell, Assistant General Manager, Marketing, Sales and Promotions for the JN Group, said that, “Through JN’s involvement with the Denbigh Agricultural Show, as a financial partner, over the past three years, we have made significant progress in our efforts to connect with our members who are integral to the farming community.”
The main focus of JN House will be the mortgage and savings products offered by Jamaica National; and exhibits will provide information for new and existing clients.
“The JN House will feature a fully functional ‘mini-branch’ to allow patrons to Denbigh to open new accounts; existing members to check their accounts, as well as, to make deposits and withdrawals,” Mr. Mitchell explained.
He also pointed out that the Society’s Mobile Mortgage Officers will be present to conduct interviews with persons interested in taking advantage of the building society’s low 9.4% mortgage rates.
His Worship the Mayor of Montego Bay, Glendon Harris, President of the JAS, said this 2012 Denbigh Show will “celebrate in grand style and splendor the progressive transitioning of our sector and the resilient nature of our people to showcase the best in agriculture, despite challenges and pitfalls.”
As an official Jamaica 50 celebratory event, “Denbigh 2012 is of particular importance in the history of the nation; and will highlight the achievements in the agricultural sector over the past six decades,” he pointed out, and noted that, the show will be used “as a catalyst for business development, new marketing initiatives and provide practical knowledge within the agricultural and related sectors.”
In that regard, at JN House, patrons at Denbigh will have direct access to Jamaica National’s internet banking portal LIVE by JN, in addition to being exposed to the JN Group’s retirement and remittance services offered by its subsidiary companies.
The pavillion will also feature a developer from the JN Preferred Developer programme; and a representative from a JN affiliate Real Estate broker “who will both provide information about housing developments and purchasing options,” Mr. Mitchell pointed out.
In addition, there will be live demonstrations of the online banking portal LIVE by JN, to demonstrate the convenience of banking online, from any internet source. And the online portal facilitates “payments for utilities and non-utilities, credit card bills, loan repayments, third party transfers, cellular phone top-up and the checking of account balances,” Mr. Mitchell outlined.
Sales Agents of JN Small Business Loans Limited will be present to advise patrons about accessing loan support for viable farming and business projects. And, other JN subsidiary companies to be featured at Denbigh will include — JN Money Services Limited; and the Jamaica Automobile Association; as well as, the JNBS Foundation.
